Western Red Cedar is the most stable timber for external and internal shutter use. It's strength to weigh ratio is unsurpassed. Often used in boat building, window frames and roof shingles. If you've ever used a sauna or spa room at a resort and thought - "wow, this room is beautiful" - then the chances of it being clad in Western Red Cedar is very high.
This type of timber is the best to handle heat and moisture variation and with it's many hues it's like it has a colour palette all it's own.
Our DIY decorative shutters are supplied machined to size, pre-sanded, ready for you to apply an oil, stain or paint finish yourself. They're manufactured in our Brisbane factory, carefully packaged and shipped Australia wide.
